Wood versus Vinyl Shutters

Wood is more versatile than vinyl. It can be shaped, painted or stained to match any color. As an organic material, we can manipulate the wood to fit perfectly into any window - a necessity because no window is a perfect square. You get a larger variety of louver sizes than vinyl shutters. Wood is a better insulator over vinyl.

Sizes: of wood louvers, 1.25, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 inches.

Time: 7-9 weeks after placing order.

Cost: about 20% higher than vinyl. We use a North American hard wood. The advantage is that wood can be painted to match any color you would like.

Colors: can match any paint or stain sample imaginable. 

Vinyl can give a wood look at approximately 20% less than the cost of wood. For high humidity rooms, such as a bathroom or kitchen, vinyl is better than wood.  Vinyl shutters can be installed two weeks after ordering.

Time: 1-2 weeks after placing order.

Cost: approximately 20% less than wood.

Three Colors: pearl, snow and antique white. Painted and stains are not available.
